It has been an honor for me to serve as your International President for 2009. Arlene and I have cherished our visits to chapters in North America, England, France, and Israel. We were also pleased to participate in the European Regency meeting which was held in Baden-Baden, Germany. We have shared Shabbat with our Alpha Omega family in Dallas, Lyon, Tel Aviv, and Boston—just to mention a few places. One of the most memorable Shabbats took place in Baden-Baden during the European Regency Meeting in June. The 40 or so Alpha Omegans in attendance, their spouses, significant others, and children attended Shabbat services in a small Sephardic synagogue. This precious shul that somehow survived the Holocaust was restored with the help of the local community after World War II. The congregation consisted of worshippers of German and Russian descent and spanned all branches of Judaism from Orthodox to Reform. It was a highlight of my presidency that I will remember forever.</description><dc:title>And in Conclusion…</dc:title><dc:creator>Daniel N. There are numerous reasons why these lesions appear in the anterior dentition, and these reasons will be discussed in detail. For some patients, these white lesions may be considered unsightly and the patients may seek treatment to have them removed; other patients are not concerned about their presence on their anterior teeth. Some of the white lesions are caused by demineralization and occur because of poor oral hygiene. For the purpose of this article, developmental white lesions will be discussed in detail, along with the options for treatment of these lesions.</description><dc:title>Treatment Considerations for Bleaching and Bonding White Lesions in the Anterior Dentition</dc:title><dc:creator>Linda Helene Greenwall</dc:creator><dc:identifier>10.1016/j.aodf.2009.10.007</dc:identifier><dc:source>Alpha Omegan 102, 4 (2009)</dc:source><dc:date>2009-12-01</dc:date><prism:publicationName>Alpha Omegan</prism:publicationName><prism:publicationDate>2009-12-01</prism:publicationDate><prism:volume>102</prism:volume><prism:number>4</prism:number><prism:issueIdentifier>S0002-6417(09)X0005-9</prism:issueIdentifier><prism:section>Scientific Articles</prism:section><prism:startingPage>121</prism:startingPage><prism:endingPage>127</prism:endingPage></item><item rdf:about="http://www.alphaomeganjournal.org/article/PIIS000264170900181X/abstract?rss=yes"><title>The Art of Veneer Cementation</title><link>http://www.alphaomeganjournal.org/article/PIIS000264170900181X/abstract?rss=yes</link><description>Creating a smile makeover is a complex process. We have been talking about and offering dental restorations that look as close as possible to natural teeth—or perhaps look even better. We have been bleaching, veneering, and crowning in an effort to meet patient demand and expectations of that elusive “perfect smile.” As these restorative treatments evolved, we became better at creating more translucent porcelains and composites, brighter shades, better color matching tools with the advent of electronic color matching, and more talented dental technicians—we are literally creating works of art. Yet some of this “art work” still falls short of the mark (). Why is this? In many cases it is because we have forgotten to choose a frame that is deserving of our artwork.</description><dc:title>Aesthetic Crown Lengthening: A Step by Step Surgical Guide and Biologic Considerations</dc:title><dc:creator>Jonathan D. Long-term success is dependant on the level of precision at which treatment is carried out. Orthodontics has evolved over the years, and a new breed of orthodontic technology appeared in the late 1990s. A clear alternative to traditional orthodontics emerged, and Invisalign (Align Technology, Inc., Santa Clara, CA) was born. Historically, orthodontics and restorative work, within a practice, rarely coincided on the same patient, but the advances within both disciplines have afforded a new and innovative way of considering conservative dentistry. No longer does there have to be aggressive preparation to attain a desired result. With patient understanding, a negligible amount of patience, and the desire to achieve the very best dentistry has to offer, the potential is limitless.</description><dc:title>Invisalign and Porcelain: The Contemporary Restorative Powerhouse</dc:title><dc:creator>Trent W. This step constitutes a final commitment by the university to “reopen” the school. All that has happened followed the agreement by the university that an objective committee be appointed with a mandate to investigate the most pressing needs of the Dental School.
